Here we lift up these hands
Because they’ve been made clean
Oh, have been washed clean somehow!

Here we lay down our lives
With thee old heart replaced
And the new Spirit You gave
Because of You
Spotted slates wiped clean

Because of You
Here we kneel redeemed
Now we want to follow You
To love You in return

Now we want to follow You
To obey Your Word
Here we serve The Living El
No longer our dead selves
Risen to walk in life anew
Perfection is that we strive
To please the One who is alive
Instructions we will seek
Because of the love You keep
So much pleasure You take
In those who patiently wait
On Your commitment made
In those who fear Your great Name!

“Follow Me…” -Messiah
Matthew 16:24
Personal Notes:
This song was inspired by learning what the New Covenant was in YHWH’s Word.
How He died, cleansed and forgave us, and redeemed us from the state we were stuck in: serving our iniquities, living in darkness, and nothing to hope in or hope for {Ephesians 2:12-13}. As clean slates, YHWH put us back on our feet, as well as, even given us new hearts and His own Spirit {Ezekiel 36:25-27} to guide us to walk out His ways, to know Him, & to love Him in return. {John 14:15; 1 John 5:3}
(See my blog post “New Covenant” for more details)
Redemption– to pay a ransom; the price paid to purchase something; clearing of a debt; purchased
In our case, the price for sins is death {Romans 6:23}. Without blood being shed, there is no forgiveness {Hebrews 9:22}. So, our ransom was paid by Our Messiah giving His life. Doesn’t knowing this cause you to want to do something for Him with your life that you have?

Dead to Sin, Alive to God
1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
-Romans 6

Scripture Referenced:
The New Covenant-
8 But finding fault with His people,[c] He says:[d]
Look, the days are coming, says the Lord,
Hebrews 8:8-12
when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah—
9 not like the covenant
that I made with their ancestors
on the day I took them by their hands
to lead them out of the land of Egypt.
I disregarded them, says the Lord,
because they did not continue in My covenant.
10 But this is the covenant
that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, says the Lord:
I will put My laws into their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be My people.
11 And each person will not teach his fellow citizen,[e]
and each his brother, saying, “Know the Lord,”
because they will all know Me,
from the least to the greatest of them.
12 For I will be merciful to their wrongdoing,
and I will never again remember their sins.[f][g]
“Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh,
Jeremiah 31:31-34
“that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel,
and with the house of Judah:
32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt;
which covenant of mine they broke,
although I was a husband to them,” says Yahweh.
33 “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days,”
says Yahweh:
“I will put my law in their inward parts,
and I will write it in their heart.
I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
34 They will no longer each teach his neighbor,
and every man teach his brother, saying, ‘Know Yahweh;’
for they will all know me,
from their least to their greatest,” says Yahweh:
“for I will forgive their iniquity,
and I will remember their sin no more.”
25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your filthiness, and from all your idols. 26 I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. You will keep my ordinances and do them.
Ezekiel 36:25-27
6 “Moreover the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your [f]descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.
Deuteronomy 30:6
Redemption-
21 Remember these things, Jacob and Israel;
Isaiah 44:21-22
for you are my servant.
I have formed you.
You are my servant.
Israel, you will not be forgotten by me.
22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions,
and, as a cloud, your sins.
Return to me, for I have redeemed you.
12 He entered the most holy place once for all, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow, sprinkling those who are defiled, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of the Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse our[b] consciences from dead works to serve the living God? 15 Therefore, He is the mediator of a new covenant,[c] so that those who are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance, because a death has taken place for redemption from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
Hebrews 9:12-15
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us.
Ephesians 1:7-8a
18 For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from the fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish.
1 Peter 1:18-19
We have been cleansed and forgiven of all sin (because He chose to do that), and THEN we were given a Helper! Now that we are clean slates, let us love Him back in obedience and faith with the Help we now have. HalleluYah!
Desire to be Obedient and Pleasing To YHWH-
29 “And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” -Yahshua
John 8:29, Follow in His example
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Titus 2:11-14
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10
17 But thank God that, although you used to be slaves of sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching you were transferred[l] to, 18 and having been liberated from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness.
Romans 6:17-18
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Matthew 16:24
