The Most High, YHWH, redeemed/purchased the people of Israel for His very own. In Exodus, He redeemed them from slavery in Egypt by the spilled blood of the Passover lamb. This is a picture of His ultimate redemption of His people from the slavery of sin by the blood of His Son, Jesus/Yahshua, our Messiah & our Passover Lamb! -Summary from Anne Elliot’s Biblical Feasts workbook
Why We Celebrate Today:
- Lev. 23:1 YHWH’s feasts & appointed times
- Acts 20:1-6, 16 & 1 Corinth. 5:8 Apostle Paul celebrated it, as well as, Feast of Pentecost. He tells others to keep them too.
- Col. 2:16-17 The appointed times are a shadow of what is to come; our preparation. Also, Messiah is the SUBSTANCE of all of these.
- John 2:23 & Luke 2:41-42 Yahshua celebrated it, as well as His parents.
- Deut. 16:1 & Jer. 23:7-8 Because He brought/brings/will bring us out of slavery! To be kept each year, see Exodus 13:8-10.

– It is a service to YHWH for He passed over the houses of Israel and spared them
– Because we are to remember YHWH’s first Exodus by His mighty, outstretched arm
– They are commanded to be kept forever (all throughout Lev. 23), are not abolished but fulfilled (Matt. 5:17) and to be fulfilled (“fall/autumn” feasts/days)
– Our Messiah kept them (we are called to follow Him) and He is the reason behind them
– They are not man-made (but YHWH’s). See Matthew 15:3 & 22:29 to read about Yahshua rebuking others for not knowing the Scriptures and breaking the Commandments in order to keep traditions.

Who We Are:
- Gal. 3:28-29 Faith in Messiah=Messiah’s=Abraham’s seed/heirs=Israel/Yisrael
- Romans 11:11-24 Once Gentiles, but now grafted into the family tree of Israel
- Ephesians 2:11-13, 19 Brought near by His blood (clearing of guilt in breaking YHWH’s law); made fellow citizens of the household of YHWH
- 1 Peter 1:18-19 Purchased by His imperishable blood; redeemed from the empty way of life (handed down from ancestors)
- 1 Peter 2:9 YHWH’s chosen people; royal priesthood; His special possession
- Col. 2:11-12 Circumcised hearts; putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Messiah; forgiven of all trespasses! See Deut. 30:6 as well!
- Romans 6 Dead to sin, alive unto Him! Baptized into Messiah=baptized into His death/buried with Him (unleavened bread symbolism, grave/rest); since we are joined with Him in the likeness of His death, so also are we in the likeness of His resurrection; our old self died with Him so sin’s dominion over the body may be abolished, making us no longer enslaved to sin (since a person who has died is freed from sin/sin’s claims); we now walk in newness of life
- Gal. 2:20 He now lives in us (since we died); this life we have now, we live by faith in the Son, who loved us and gave Himself for us!
