Let me introduce you to the Creator of the stars
I call Him Father
And He calls me His work of art
He spoke the world into existence
And knitted my inward parts
He upholds the heavens
And my broken heart
At each twinkle
of a star
Our mouths gape
Preparing them to praise His Name
We stand in awe of but the glistening of His breath
But refuse to accept
His fiery love unto death
We looked as far as the eye could see
For answers about eternity
But He has unveiled His face,
The Creator of each one of these
About the Poem
This one was written as my heart aches for someone who believed in “the universe” and the stars.
It’s supposed to juxtapose the vastness of the universe with the small creation of the baby in the womb by the same hand, and acknowledge the awesomeness of the stars and glory and vastness of creation (why our jaws drop), but they open so we can praise Him!
The glistening of His breath is supposed to suggest the stars are like mere “spit” droplets splattered about when He spoke creation into existence (and they are still so amazing, but He has done even greater things like send His Son to die for us).
